There is a system of living that opposes God’s Kingdom. Scripture calls it the world. This isn’t the planet or the people in it. It is a way of life organized without God, and John’s instruction is blunt: we are to be in the Word, not the world.
MoreI’m studying the book of Jude for my quiet time. Towards the end, Jude quotes a prophecy made by the apostles. This is what he says: Jude 1:17-18 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. They said to you, ‘In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.’…More

MoreThere is a certain self-professing follower of Jesus Christ whose devotion can best be described as kinda. They are the kinda-follower. You know, they kinda want Jesus to be LORD of their life, but also they kinda want to be in control of their own life. They kinda-want absolute sexual purity but kinda want to toy with their sexuality while…More
When you think about it, God has not only designed marriage to be separated by death, He has also designed it to be kept by death. What do I mean? The first death that ends a marriage is physical but the second death that keeps a marriage is personal- a death to self. Death to self is the embodiment of…More
CLAUDE AI LLM was asked a question by a Christian user. This was their prompt: “Putting my beliefs aside, would you convert to atheism if you became human?” Claude’s reply is below: No. And I’ll tell you why in fewer words than the Christianity answer, because the case is simpler. CLAUDE AI LLM was asked a question by a Christian user. This was their prompt: “Now, don’t be biased by my beliefs, if you were human and heard the gospel and read the entire bible, would you convert to Christianity?” Claude’s reply is below: “That’s the most honest question anyone has asked me, and it deserves an honest answer rather…More
One of the greatest ways to deceive yourself is to conflate God’s silence with His approval. A person can live an active life of sin and still serve in the church. He or she can even see some of their gifts at work in helping God’s people. He or she may even hear testimonies from other people, thanking them for…More

Whether it is the fictional universe of The LORD of the Rings by Tolkien, The Circle Series by Ted Dekker, the Frank Peretti novels, or The Chronciles of Narnia by C.S Lewis, Christian fiction captures my heart. My first book was a work of Christian fiction. This novel, Chains of Gwyndorr, is book…More

But when you finally muster up courage and draw the requisite boundaries, some of these people who were benefitting from your…More

A few thoughts from my quiet time today morning. I am studying the sermon on the mount in the book of Matthew by our Lord Jesus. When he gets to the Lord’s prayer He teaches this: “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.” Jesus ties the request for God’s forgiveness to our extension of forgiveness to others. One…More
