The war we are losing: When entertainment spits at godliness

7

In the 21st Century we have a generation that professes to be Christian but has forgotten how to blush at entertainment that spits in the face of God- a generation of professing believers that conforms to the world and thinks that Christ Jesus complies. If you call yourself a Christian, Jesus has a lot to say about the entertainment you indulge in.

  • Are you a fan or a follower of Jesus?
  • Are you simple about evil?
  • Are you are aware we are at war?

I was privileged to be invited by the Christian Union of University of Nairobi Lower Kabete campus on March 27th 2015 to divulge my preparations on this topic.

*John 8 ” I said parable mistakenly (I meant event)

  1. Lovely to hear your voice again Ernest! Hope to do so again in person one day. Well done for using every opportunity to spread a message of living righteously for God. Truly God is raising you up to speak such truth. Keep doing it for His glory!

  2. You have no idea how much this message has been timely for me! I was (time is irrelevant) a geek through and through and was the biggest movie fangirl ever. God delivered me from that and I still resisted over and over again. I started letting go of only some shows and movies. God practically convicted me halfway through a Dr. Who episode (I was such a Whovian) and I stopped immediately. I told myself I'd go back but a year later and I hadn't. I'm so grateful! Eventually, He kicked me out of movie theatres, because what was I doing there watching profanity and the blasphemy of His name? Not to mention who I was going to snuggle with in the movie halls that wasn't my husband. I finally got to a point where He blatantly told me that He wanted a complete severance from that which had a hold on my life and I decided to obey. For the sake of the gospel. Oh how timely is this message! Thank you for getting it.
